Welcome Visit

Welcome Visit

The teachers and pupils of Ballintleva National School, Carraghboy, Co Roscommon visited Dalgan June 15th. Since 2005 this generous and enthusiastic group of students and teachers has fundraised for Columban Mission in the Philippines each Christmas in the Athlone Shopping Centre. Their fundraising activities began following a visit from Fr Padraig O’ Donovan to the school as part of his mission appeals work in the diocese.

During their visit to Dalgan they had a chance to tour the Mission Centre and walk in the woods as well as meeting our lay missionaries who entertained them with music and dancing from the Philippines. The photograph shows the whole group outside Dalgan just before they departed for a visit  to the Hill of Tara.

We were delighted that they came to visit and it gave us a chance to thank them in person for their support of Columban Mission.
